Richard Harron
Richard has been coaching & teaching a variety of sports for over 20 years in the Metro Vancouver area. He is a member of the Professional Mountain Bike Instructor Association (PMBIA) and completed the Mountain Bike Instructor Training – Level 1 Program in 2013. Richard has been involved in the mountain biking community since 2010, when he first began leading group rides across Metro Vancouver. He also works closely with Tri-Cities Off Road Cycling Association (TORCA) on numerous initiatives.
Richard is a Level 2 Certified Canadian Ski Instructor Alliance (CSIA) Ski Instructor and is currently working towards obtaining his Level 3 CSIA certification. He has taught at Grouse Mountain Resort for the past 16 seasons. Richard is also a Level 1 Canadian Adaptive Snowsports (CADS) Ski Instructor and volunteers his time with the Vancouver Adaptive Snow Sports (VASS). He is an Entry Level Alpine Canada Ski Coach and a certified Soccer and Baseball coach with the Coaching Association of Canada’s National Coaching Certification Program (NCCP). In addition, Richard has taken the Canadian Red Cross Standard First Aid CPR/AED Level C course.
Richard lives in Port Coquitlam, is married with three boys, and has three grandsons. Richard retired early from corporate life in 2014 and holds a BA in Economics and an MBA in Information Technology Management.
Richard is currently an ambassador with Norco Bicycles, Kinetik Cycles and Trailforks.
